Key takeaways
- Cost depends on the method, the number of supports and how hard the site is to reach.
- Crack repair costs a few hundred dollars, and full piering costs thousands.
- Compare itemized written estimates, not just a total.
The range is wide for a reason
Foundation repair covers everything from sealing a hairline crack to underpinning a whole house. Published guides commonly put crack injection somewhere in the hundreds of dollars, wall anchors and carbon fiber at several hundred dollars per location and pier installation at roughly one to three thousand dollars or more per pier.
Those numbers are planning figures, not quotes. Your soil, the type of foundation, access and how far the structure has moved all change the price.
What drives the price
The method is the first driver: carbon fiber, anchors, push piers and helical piers all cost differently. The count matters too, since a corner may need two piers and a whole side may need eight. Access, depth to a firm layer, finished interiors and permits add to it.
Drainage and water control are often part of a good repair, and they can add cost while preventing a repeat.
How to compare estimates
Ask each contractor for a written scope that lists the method, the number and location of piers or anchors, whether lifting is included, the warranty and what is excluded. Compare line by line.
A low price with a vague scope can cost more in the end. Our Pier Planner can give you a first planning range to compare against.

Quick answers
Is a free estimate really free?
At Tennessee Foundations it is, and it includes an explanation of the problem and your options in writing.
Will insurance cover foundation repair?
Standard homeowner policies often exclude settlement and ground movement, but they may cover sudden damage from a covered cause. Check your policy and ask your agent.
